USEF ‘R’ Judge, FEI competitor, Trainer, Instructor, Owner Mississippi View Farm

We have had the opportunity to host clinics with Jennifer Roth here at Mississippi View Farm over the last year and it has been such a wonderful experience. Jennifer has worked with myself, my clients and their horses and has quickly been able to assess the best way to make each combination a working partnership. Her empathy for the horse is tremendous and is based on sound horsemanship and classical principals. In a world where I feel that “Classical Horsemanship” is either being taken as an outdated ideal or an excuse for poor training with shoddy results, Jennifer is a breath of fresh air. She is demanding of the rider, asking for correct position and timing so that the horse can perform the movements correctly and athletically. Her in-hand work has been SO helpful to many here at MVF. Jennifer really stands out for her passionate teaching. She really CARES that the horse and rider understand the each concept or movement, and is one of the most capable instructors I have ever had the opportunity to work with. And because of 20-plus years of judging, she has an understanding of creating the ability to reproduce each movement reliably for the show ring.

I have known Jennifer Roth for many years and have been training at her place in the US several times. I very much appreciate her opinion when it comes to buying horses for me or my daughters who are both successfully riding in childrens and pony competitions in Switzerland. She encouraged me to buy my daughter’s competition pony through video and was of great help for us in the very first weeks with the new mount, when she came to see us and train us in Switzerland. I can highly recommend her as a teacher and trainer up to the highest levels.

It has been my pleasure to ride with Jennifer Roth in clinics for over 10 years. No one has helped me grow as a rider/trainer and influenced my career as much as she has.

Jennifer has the almost impossible-to-find combination of a truly classical and correct education in riding and dressage, along with a finger on the current pulse of our sport through her judging at our top dressage shows. She has a deep understanding not only of our sport, and the mechanics of what is "correct" and how to achieve it, but also of horses as living, thinking, feeling creatures. Jennifer truly cares about her people as well. She passionately wants to pass on her knowledge and give everyone the best ride/lesson they have ever had, every time she teaches.

Most importantly, to me at least, Jennifer loves horses truly, deeply, endlessly. Her love has never faded. Her job has never become just a job. Jennifer always keeps the horses’ happiness and well being as her top priority, and the horses sense this, love her for it, and do their best. I highly recommend Jennifer for clinics, as a trainer, and as a judge.
